Several airline pilots have reported sighting a shining unidentified flying object (UFO) near the south-eastern Chinese city of Nanjing, a newspaper reported yesterday. The first sighting was reported by a Xiamen Airlines pilot on Monday, who said he saw a light blue object hovering past his plane while 80km north of Nanjing, the Wen Wei Po daily reported. At the same time, pilots of a Shandong Airline aircraft, which was some 120km away from the Xiamen airlines plane, also reported a similar sighting. They described the UFO as being a white-blue skateboard-shaped craft. A pilot from another airplane, about 300km away, also reported a similar sighting to an airport control tower in Tonglu in Zhejiang province. In recent years, China has witnessed a surge in UFO sightings. AFP |

UFO Flying Cities Aren't Fantasy 11/20/2002 At the end of 1997, the Chile Air Force Command announced the creation of a Commission for the study of anomalous atmospheric phenomena; the commission was to be attached to the Civil Aviation Central Board. Director of the Civil Aviation College Colonel Enzo Dinosera was appointed head of the commission. Chile's largest daily La Tercera revealed a tiny secret: the commission was created on the initiative of the ex-commander of the Chilean Air Force, Ramon Vega, who is currently a senator. The senator himself saw UFOs twice and believes that UFOs actually exist, which is why he isn't going to waste time proving their existence. In 1988, the crew of a spy plane saw "the lights of a city," and they thought that it was the city of Antofagasta, the largest city in the north of Chile. However, suddenly the "city" took off and flew! The plane's crew was scared to death and immediately made their way back to their base. Another flying city was seen in April 1996 in southern Chile. Aircraft mechanic Joaquin Himenes from the Los-Cerrilos airport in Santiago saw a huge UFO in October 1996. The mechanic said, "The UFO traveled at a speed of about 50 miles per hour. The object was surrounded with a green phosphoric glow; it approached the landing strip and hovered in the air right before the air traffic controllers' cabin. Then, it dropped down, and a red light was flashing, but it didn't touch the ground. Finally, the object soared upwards and flew away northward. The whole event lasted 15 minutes." Himenes saw a UFO even before. He was a member of a crew flying from Punta-Arenas to Puerto-Williams on December 14, 1992. He said, "We saw an orange glowing ball about two meters in diameter, and this ball followed us. The pilot contacted air traffic control and asked if they saw anything else besides the plane. The controllers answered that the radar registered some object, but according to the flight schedule, no other planes should have been in the area. The orange ball followed us right up to Puerto-Williams, and then it flew away towards the Atlantic coast." Gustave Rodrigues, who worked as an air traffic controller for 27 years, was appointed secretary of the newly created commission. Rodrigues said, "I have a taped conversation between a pilot and an air traffic controller near the airport of Ariki. The pilot said that when an UFO approached the plane, there were some problems with the communication system. When the tape is played, it seems that the pilot spoke a long phrase, but only the very beginning and end were recorded." The stories about so-called "flying houses" are the most strange ones among the recently registered UFO cases in Chile. The first occurred on April 16, 1990, when an UFO overturned a house. Investigator Raul Hayardo says that he interrogated the witnesses and took pictures of the site. "A red semicircular object with white flashing lights flew directly above one of the buildings at a very low height of about ten meters." The Balboas were quietly sleeping in their house. The UFO flew above the left side of the building and lifted it a little. Then, the house fell on its side, and the front door was blocked. The Balboas family had to break off some planks to get out of their house. The saw the strange object go up and hit some transmission objects. A bright flash followed. Finally, the UFO vertically soared up and disappeared into the sky after several seconds. Mister Balboa said, "The thing resembled a flaming ball. While I was staring at it, our home collapsed." When the site was examined later, people saw that some plants were slightly or completely burnt. Source: Pravda.ru |

Sighted Over Kota Kinabalu.
November, 2002 An unidentified flying object has been spotted over the skies of Kota Kinabalu, puzzling air traffic controllers, who say the craft was bigger than an airliner. The U-F-O was first spotted on radar screens, but later there were naked-eye sightings even in broad daylight. This is a Malaysia Airport Berhad close circuit television recording at terminal two of the Kota Kinabalu International Airport on October fifth. Although it might just show as a ciger-shaped object , Air Traffic Controllers were surprised because the craft was flying at great speed. The controllers were tracking a fokker airliner taking off when it noticed the long U-F-O. Traffic Controllers knew for sure there were no other commercial or private planes in the skies at that time-- at least not ones that were scheduled. MAB showed the startling recording to TV3, but said the incident was not unique. There had been at least four other sightings over Kota Kinabalu over the past seven years. Some of the U-F-O's were said to vary in shape and size, ranging from a sphere, to a cigar-shaped object. |

UFO
Returns Again In Baku,
Azerbaijani 55/21/2003 Hundreds of Baku residents became the witnesses of the unusual phenomenon - the unidentified flying object buzzed above the city on Monday in the evening.
UFO was observed in various parts of capital approximately from 5 pm to 7pm (Baku time). In the cloudless sky the large light stain similar to an extended “drop of milk” has appeared.
The object was not similar to a cloud, aboard
the plane or the helicopter, as moved on a complex trajectory, Ekho
newspaper report says. At 18:35 "drop" suddenly started quickly to leave,
was not dissolved yet in the sky. The abnormal object has caused interest
not only the people of Baku, but also Azerbaijani experts.

MYSTERY AFTER UFO
SIGHTINGS PUZZLE EXPERTS September, 2003 Scotland Strange lights in the North-east night sky have baffled the experts. Sixteen lights travelling rapidly across clear skies were spotted over two nights by a Fyvie resident. Air traffic control bosses and aviation experts have ruled out aircraft or satellites, because the lights were travelling too fast to be planes or orbiting objects. Astronomy experts say the lights could not have been "shooting stars" because they were travelling too slowly and from different directions. One North-east UFO expert was at a loss to offer a straightforward explanation and said the mysterious sightings should be logged as genuine close encounters with unidentified flying objects. The high-level Fyvie flyovers first appeared on Thursday about 10.30pm and were still crossing silently overhead more than two hours later. They took only seconds to cross the sky, then gave a repeat performance on Friday night and into Saturday morning. Resident and Evening Express reporter Graham Lawther said he spotted the first lights at 10.35pm on Thursday. He said: "I had stepped outside for a good view of Mars, which is closer to the earth now than it has been for thousands of years, on what was a crystal-clear, moonless night. "But I also saw a small white light, high in the atmosphere, appear in the southern sky and fly extremely fast to the north. "It was far too rapid for an aircraft. It was across the whole sky in under 10 seconds and a plane would have taken several minutes." Mr Lawther saw seven identical, fast-moving pinpricks of light between 10.35pm and 11.20pm, and six more from 12.15am-12.45am. Three more were witnessed on the Friday night, between 10.20pm and 10.35pm, the first heading south and two more quickly heading north. The lights, which appeared to be at the altitude of a high-flying aircraft gave off a white glow. A RAF Kinloss spokeswoman said: "We had no activity in that area on either day." A National Air Traffic Services spokesman said: "I have checked with our colleagues in Aberdeen and Prestwick, which covers the upper air space. "There are no reports of any sightings from either night." A spokesman for the Royal Observatory in Edinburgh said the lights could have been satellites in high orbit. He said large satellites were occasionally seen with the naked eye, though never 13 in less than two hours. He said they were almost always observed shortly before dawn or after dusk, when sunlight reflected off their highly polished surfaces. Our skies are hotspot for saucers The North-east is a global hotspot for UFO sightings. Aberdonian Ian Taylor, who has been studying the subject for more than 50 years, said folk travel to this region from all over the country in the hope of a close encounter. Lights and objects were regularly seen near Muchalls, Portlethen, Deeside and the area north of Aberdeen, he explained. The ex-RAF man said it would be difficult to explain away the sheer number of the latest phenomena in the skies above Fyvie as aircraft, satellites or shooting stars. "These were obviously aerial objects, either generating their own light or reflecting light," said Mr Taylor. "What was seen was straightforward UFO activity." Mr Taylor said no one should jump to the conclusion that the sightings were necessarily "craft from another planet" but said they were certainly unexplained observations of unidentified objects. "The frequency of sightings up here is immense," said Mr Taylor, who lives in Aberdeen's West End. "If you are willing to go out and look in the evening, particularly in the winter time, you would be able to see things you would not believe." Recent North-east sightings have included: A hovering ball of light seen from Kincorth for two hours last January. A silent red light following a couple in their car on the A90 just south of Aberdeen in December 2002, which shot off vertically. Two "bright globes" spinning above Cruden Bay in October 2001, which faded after 10 minutes. A black wing-like object, which glowed and buzzed a couple's home in Aboyne - and which was also seen by a man driving between Daviot and Oldmeldrum. |

PROOF OF UFO SIGHTING CAUGHT ON CAMERA October 6, 2003 Could little green men soon be arriving down Grimsby's Freeman Street? Steve Musson (38) and his wife Caron (36) had a close encounter when they spotted what they believe was a UFO spinning across the sky near the shopping area. They saw what Steve described as "a black shiny disc turning over and over in the sky." The UFO was in the air above their Bodiam Way, Grimsby, home for several minutes before Steve went inside and grabbed his video camera. The footage, which he gave to the Telegraph, shows an intriguing black object, which comes in and out of view and catches the light on regular intervals. It is in view for just over a minute before it completely disappears. On the film Steve can be heard to say: "It's just gone. I can't see it." Speaking after the strange incident, he said: "We were just sitting in the garden when Caron saw something in the sky. "She pointed it out to me and we had no idea what it was. It was very high up and was easily at the same height that planes often fly at. "In fact, just after we stopped filming, a plane flew past in the same location, but it was no way as high as the black disc. "I'm glad that I was able to run inside and grab my camera. Otherwise nobody would believe what we had seen. "We've asked our neighbours but they saw nothing. It was very hard to spot and Caron was lucky to see it. "From now on we'll be keeping our eyes on the skies, just in case we see anything like it again. It was very strange." The footage has been given to Grimsby para-psychologist Robin Furman - a national expert on all things weird and wonderful. He was intrigued by the video and decided that it should be sent away to a laboratory to be enhanced. He described the results as "very interesting". Mr Furman said: "In most cases you find that UFO footage is either too good that you can see it must be a fake. Or so bad that you can't make out anything. "However, this video falls squarely in the middle and raises some very interesting questions about what it is. "I can't say for definite that it came from outer space. "However, I can definitely say that it is unidentified and will probably remain so for some time." Grimsby Evening Telegraph Lincolnshire, England |

White Triangle Objects Spotted Birmingham, England June 13, 2003 A triangular object with a shining trail behind it has been sighted across the Worcester skies. A man in St John's claims he saw the strange triangular shape with six lights on its left-hand side and six lights on its right-hand side, on Tuesday, June 3 at around 1am. It was moving towards the Malvern area with a shining trail behind it. The witness rang Contact International UFO Research, in Oxfordshire, to tell them of his sighting. On Saturday, May 31, a man and wife, also from St John's, say they spotted a white light above Worcester Cathedral. "The light suddenly shot off silently towards the Birmingham direction," said Michael Soper, spokesman for Contact International. And in Kidderminster, on Wednesday night, two people say they saw a pearl-shaped object flying over Coventry Street as they were driving home. "It was hovering in the sky then it darted out of sight," said Mr Soper. "We can't speculate what any of these objects are." Mr Soper said he received the phone calls after the Evening News reported how a man walking his dog near Lichfield Street, Stourport-on-Severn, saw six strange lights flying silently across the sky in a south-west direction over Stourport-on-Severn on Saturday, May 31. |

Hunt for
UFO clues Council spokesman Jim Linton said yesterday experts at the Defense Science and Technology Organization had no idea what the object could be. In an e-mail to Mr. Linton, the organization's PR manager said: "I'm afraid DSTO is not an authority on the identification or investigation of unidentified objects and I'm not aware of any government department that does deal with these sorts of matters." Meanwhile, skeptics are convinced the UFO could turn out to be nothing more exciting than a porcelain power insulator, a bird or a fly. Australian Skeptics member Don Allison said the object could have been a disc-shaped insulator used on high-voltage electricity transmission lines. "We had a case a few years back in Perth where these chaps perpetrated a UFO deception by throwing these discs like Frisbees up above some sand dunes and then photographing them," Mr. Allison said. "The chaps throwing were concealed behind the dunes and the effect was of a UFO flying out over the ocean. "Eventually, they owned up and the mystery evaporated." Mr. Allison said the photograph could also be an optical trick. The Skeptics UFO spokesman Dr Steve Roberts believed it was probably a bird or fly. "The object is out of focus, but the background is in focus, therefore it is near the camera," he said. "That would also explain why no-one else saw it." Mr. Linton said Whittlesea Council had no view on what the object was, but he was confident there was no prank. "The engineer has assured us he has not played a prank," Mr. Linton said. "As you could imagine, there would be consequences if it was a prank and nobody would want to put their job on the line for something like this. "And the engineer would have noticed if it was kids throwing discs up in the air because there is nothing there. It is just farmland." The council was yesterday still waiting for the Civil Aviation Authority's views on the photograph, and planned to send an e-mail alerting NASA to the image. But because NASA would not accept e-mail attachments, the council would direct them to the image on its website, Mr. Linton said. |

Protests to Pakistan After Guard Reports UFO Landing By Iftikhar Gillani NEW DELHI: A high alert was sounded along the Pakistan-India border in Punjab following reports of an unidentified flying object (UFO) taking off from India and landing in Pakistan’s territory, a senior Border Security Force (BSF) official said on Monday. The incident reportedly occurred on Thursday evening when the flying object landed in Pakistan’s territory around 300 yards from the zero line near the BSF Fatehpur Post in the village Chann Kalan. BSF Senior Commandant Darbara Singh said in New Delhi that BSF Constable Jagdish Parishad, who was on duty at the international border on Thursday evening, had seen “a flying object like a hot-air balloon carrying three persons, who disembarked after landing in Pakistan’s territory”. Mr Singh said, “Now it has become difficult to ascertain the nature of the flying object that landed in the Pakistani territory, as the BSF constable deployed at the post was not educated enough to identify the object. “Since the constable has never seen any para-glider, fan-glider or a hot-air balloon, it is difficult to verify the authenticity of the matter,” he said. “The BSF has already handed over a protest note to the Pakistan authorities to provide necessary information on the landing [of the flying] object,” Mr Singh said. Meanwhile, the police station concerned on the Indian side had lodged a case under the Indian Foreign Passport Act and Foreign Act, a police official said. “It would be far-fetched to suggest that escaped prisoners from the Burail Jail and killer of former Punjab chief minister Beant Singh used a hot-air balloon to land in Pakistan,” the official said. |

Mexico Air Force Video
Creates UFO Stir Tue May 11, 2004 06:06 PM ET ![]() MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - The Mexican Air Force has released footage of what a UFO expert said were 11 invisible unidentified flying objects picked up by an infrared camera as they whizzed around a surveillance plane. A long-time believer in flying saucers, journalist Jaime Maussan told a news conference on Tuesday the objects were real and seemed "intelligent" after they at one point changed direction and surrounded the plane chasing them. "They were invisible to the eye but they were there, there is no doubt about it. They had mass, they had energy and they were moving about," he said, after showing a 15-minute video he said the Defense Ministry gave him permission to publicize. The ministry confirmed to Reuters it had provided the video, filmed by the Air Force on March 5 over the eastern coastal state of Campeche. "We are not alone! This is so weird," one of the pilots can be heard yelling, after the plane's crew switched on an infrared camera to track the objects, first picked up by radar. The film, recorded by a plane looking for drugs trafficking near the Gulf of Mexico, shows 11 objects as blobs of light that hover in formation or dart about, sometimes disappearing into cloud. Mexico's most popular nightly news broadcast showed the video on Monday night. Interviewed by Mausson on another section of the video, the pilots said they grew nervous when the objects, still invisible, turned back during a chase and surrounded the plane. "There was a moment when ... the screens showed they were behind us, to the left and in front of us. It was at that point that I felt a bit tense," said Maj. Magdaleno Castanon. Mexico has a long history of fanciful UFO sightings, most of which are dismissed by scientists as space debris, missiles, weather balloons, natural weather phenomena or hoaxes. © Reuters 2004. UFO is spotted over Kingsgate Retail Park during morning rush-hour
By Judith Tonner THE appearance of a UFO in the sky above Kingsgate Retail Park last week caused spooked drivers to bump their cars. Several people reported seeing a huge silver object in the area as they drove past at around 8.45am last Wednesday. Drivers were so distracted by the bizarre sighting that at least two minor bumps were reported, as the attention of motorists wandered from the more mundane forms of transport before them on the road. A local woman, who did not wish to be named, contacted the News to describe the experience of a friend who was driving towards the retail park at that time. She said: "My friend saw something hovering, which was silver in appearance and looked like the dishes you see on the side of television transmitters. "It was huge, and it was pulsating - he wasn't the only one who saw it, as you couldn't have missed it. "He saw it and just thought: 'Good God', and was really quite shaken by the whole thing. "Then the object just suddenly disappeared - it was so strange. "My friend thinks the accidents at Kingsgate were a result of other people seeing this thing as well." The sighting has also intrigued East Kilbride UFO Club, whose members were warned in advance that they might be about to spot something strange in the sky. Colleagues in Cumbernauld had seen a similar object around half an hour previously, and alerted their South Lanarkshire counterparts that it appeared to be heading in their direction. Lee Close, of the Anglo-Scottish UFO Research Agency, has been investigating last week's events in tandem with the local UFO club. He said: "This is the first time I've come across a UFO causing a car crash, although I'm aware of it having happened in America before. "People in Scotland tend to think: 'oh, there's something in the sky' and just carry on, so the fact that it's caused two fender benders is quite unusual. "The fact that it's in daylight interests us immensely too - previously 95 per cent of sightings were at night, although they're now almost equal between day and night-time." Anyone who saw last week's UFO or witnessed either of the two reported vehicle bumps is asked to contact Lee on 07957 912500, or Noel Wallace of East Kilbride UFO Club on 07941 157187, and all information will be treated in the strictest confidence. © owned by or licensed to Trinity Mirror Plc 2004 |

Flying Saucer Reported in South Africa 9/17/1965
Johannesburg, South Africa (AP): South African police and scientist investigated Thursday a report that a fying saucer-type object had landed on a main highway near Pretoria, the country’s administrative capital. Two police officers reported seeing the flaming saucer, about 30 feet in diameter, shortly after midnight. One of them said the shiny copper-coored object resembled a giant spinning top. Scientists who examined the spot where the officers said they saw the object are reported to have found a six-foot wide section of tarred road had been badly burned. Grass on either side of the highway also was reported slightly scorched.

Qatar's bloggers are having a ball discussing what these strange lights
over Doha's skies were all about. ![]() Writing in Qatar Living, LifeIsBeautiful opens Pandora's Box: I hope I'm not the only one who has witnessed the two strange lights over Doha yesterday. It was around 9.30 pm when I was standing in front of my house at Matar Kadeem (Old Airport). I looked up randomly and saw a bright flame in the sky.It was appearing to be the size of a tennis ball with very bright flames like light flickering almost about 2 mile high.It was moving at a very slow pace and had it not been for the hight at which it was,I would have ignored it as a balloon. All of us were amazed and were joined by a lot of other onlookers. All of us were guessing as to what it could be. The light kept moving from South to North for about 10 mins. It was moving in a straight line and then started wobbling at it place. After about 3-4 more mins, it vanished in to the clouds. This was not it. After about another 5 mins a similar light appeared in the South horizon and followed a similar pattern. Did anyone on QL notice it? What could it be? Readers were quick to respond, with reactions ranging from the cynical aircraft lights to the imaginative UFO sightings. Here's a sample of some of the responses: Mariam-mar explains: It might be a kind of meteor, that's one looks like, though i haven't seen a real one in my eyes at my age. Femme adds: Must be aircraft's navigation lights. That time of the night that portion of airspace is opened (for a limited time) to air traffic coming from the west. Or it could be one of the aircraft from al udeid, they have all types of aircraft over there. Absolutejaguar is not happy with these explanations and ventures further: It is interesting how everyone assumes Aircraft lights, whilst it is true that the simplest explanation is often the right one, does nobody entertain the idea of extraterrestrial life. I'm not talking little green men, but we live in a huge galaxy in a huge universe. It would be very arrogant to assume we are the only life in existence. Eby1975 chimes in, giving a first-witness account: Even I saw it while driving down to the Airport road. Intially it looked like a large balloon to me and I said to myself thats strange ..moon cant be that big and as I drove closer to the airport to have a better look, it was diminishing and thought to myself ..must be the cloud that could be over shadowing it.. UFO sounds bit scare .. not that I havent seen strange ppls around !!!!! Dweller brings us back to reality and says it was Spiderman, while Dreamz believes it was a firecracker. Meanwhile, the discussion continues at QatarLiving. 3 Responses to “Qatar: Strange Lights Over Doha” January 29th, 2008 at 6:36 am peter: 1 I remember reading an article in the newspaper last week that a Satellite which the USA had sent in space would be entering our atmosphere and would be crashing into earth, the USA had lost control of this satellite and there was no power i.e. electricity to handel, control it, the satellite was the size of a Bus……MAYBE that was what you saw…….I am not sure though, since you are saying that after 5 minutes another one appeared….. i didnt see either. January 31st, 2008 at 13:34 pm Ann: 2 Could it not have been this? “Professional and amateur astronomers took their best look at a huge asteroid as it zoomed past Earth on Tuesday at a little more than half a million kilometers distance, NASA said.” http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20080129/ts_alt_afp/spaceastronomyasteroid_080129213946 January 31st, 2008 at 18:42 pm John Smith: 3 I’m really can’t say what this is in the photo, but if you use this website called www.tybit.com it helps find information that is hard to find. When i used this site I found hundreds of topics. But it could just be a star, still not sure what it is then go to the site. |
